Introduction

Reporting into the Technical Services team, you will be responsible for supporting short- to medium-term mine planning, production engineering and drill and blast activities. You will work closely with Mining Operations, Geology, Survey and other technical teams to ensure plans are practical, achievable and aligned with production targets.

About this role

  • Develop and maintain short- and medium-term open pit mine plans and schedules.
  • Prepare mine designs and production schedules aligned with operational requirements.
  • Undertake drill and blast design, planning and optimisation.
  • Monitor production performance against plan and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Complete production reporting, reconciliation and variance analysis.
  • Work closely with Mining Operations to ensure mine plans are practical and achievable.
  • Collaborate with Geology, Survey, Geotechnical and other technical disciplines.
  • Support the development of budgets, forecasts and longer-term planning activities.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and mine performance.
  • Ensure all engineering activities are completed in accordance with relevant safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to a positive safety culture and continuous improvement across the operation.

Is this you?

To be successful in this role, you will be a motivated Mining Engineer with a strong understanding of open pit mining and a practical approach to mine planning and production.

  • Degree qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong mining engineering experience.
  • Strong open pit hard-rock mining experience, ideally within gold.
  • Demonstrated experience across mine planning, scheduling and production engineering.
  • Strong understanding of drill and blast design and optimisation.
  • Experience with mine design and scheduling software, with Deswik highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within a close-knit technical and operational team.
  • Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
  • Current WA C Class Driver's Licence.
